Consumer Advocacy – Public Utilities (DCA)

Young Brothers’ has submitted an application to the Hawai’i Public Utilities Commission (PUC) for approval of its new cost of service model pursuant to Order No. 37280 Addressing Young Brothers, LLC’s Request for Emergency or Temporary Rate Relief in Docket No. 2019-0117.

The DCA submitted a preliminary statement of position stating that due to many unanswered questions and concerns, the “Consumer Advocate is unable to presently state its position on the merits of the application and cannot, at this time, offer its recommendation to the Commission regarding that the application should be approved.”

The Consumer Advocate will continue to file additional information requests as well as additional measures to validate the proposed model adhering to the approved procedural schedule.
