DCA Reports

Each year the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs submits its Compliance Resolution Fund Report to the state legislature. This portion of the report provides a detailed overview of the DCA. In Act 068, Sessions Laws of Hawaii 2007 (“Act 068”), the Legislature appropriated $100,000 to the Division of Consumer Advocacy to investigate the power outages that occurred during and after the earthquake on the islands of O‘ahu, Maui, and Hawai‘i on October 15, 2006. In Act 143, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006 (“Act 143”), the Legislature requested that the Division of Consumer Advocacy conduct an in-depth review of its organization to develop a new and comprehensive plan to restructure and supplement its resources to allow the Division to function more efficiently and effectively.

Pursuant to House Concurrent Resolution No. 172 HD1 Regular Session of 2003, DCA submitted this report to the Twenty-Third Legislature.
