8:30 a.m. Update: Public Safety Power Shutoff restoration completed
Power restored to all ~330 affected customers in Upcountry Maui

HONOLULU, July 7, 2025 – Hawaiian Electric has restored electricity to all affected customers, about 330 in parts of Upcountry Maui, impacted by its Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program. Overnight crews and additional personnel who have been working since 6 a.m. completed inspections of the circuits enabling all customers to be restored. If hazardous conditions suddenly return, it may be necessary to shut off the power in identified PSPS areas on Maui and Hawai‘i Island to reduce the risk of a wildfire.

Any customer still without power should call our Maui County Trouble Line to report the outage at 1-855-304-8181.

A PSPS was not necessary on Oʻahu or Hawai‘i Island. Although the high winds have subsided currently, Hawaiian Electric will continue to closely monitor the weather. As a safety precaution,
customers are reminded not to touch or move any fallen poles, lines or other utility equipment.
