Hawaii residents, like many across the country, face a home insurance crisis as the insurance industry grapples with the cost of multiple natural disasters like the wildfires on Maui in 2023 and in Los Angeles earlier this year, as well as hurricanes and flooding across the American southeast last year. State lawmakers are working on solutions.
