Hawaiian Electric has issued an Outage Alert for Hawaii Island, implementing brief 30 minute rolling outages due to an unexpected loss of several large generators and near-zero wind resources. Customers are urged to conserve energy until 9:00 p.m. to mitigate further disruption.
