THURSDAY JULY 27th: In-person event to help people apply to the Rental and Utility Relief Program
Posted on Jul 20, 2023 in Important EventsThe Office of Economic Revitalization and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement have organized in-person events to help people apply to the Rental and Utility Relief Program.
The final enrollment event will be Thursday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Filipino Community Center (94-428 Mokuola St.). It’s for new applicants only.
Each event is by appointment. To schedule a time to apply, renters should call one of these phone numbers: (808) 940-5209, or (808) 940-6993, or (808) 940-2838, or (808) 728-3508, or (808) 741-6966.
Eligible renters who have not applied to RURP before can get individual help applying.
Renters should bring:
- Their government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or a state ID card.
- Signed Social Security Card for everyone over 18
- Their rental agreement and past due rent and/or utility bills.
- The most recent tax returns or pay stubs for everyone in their household.
- Med-QUEST health insurance can also be used as proof of income.
The Rental and Utility Relief Program’s online portal closed to process 2,000 new applications and several hundred recertification requests from Oʻahu renters.
All requests for rent and utility help are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and approved applications will be paid out as long as funds are available. Funds are limited and no application is guaranteed funding.
