Check out DCCA’s National Consumer Protection Week Virtual Consumer Fair taking place virtually from March 7-11, 2022 at 10-11am HST.

Learn from experts on how to protect yourself from various scams and what you can do to become a smarter consumer. Here’s a line-up of the speakers:

  • Debora Sanehira, DCCA’s own from the RICO Consumer Resource Center, will talk about the CRC and the importance of checking on a business or professional before doing business with a company, Monday, March 7 at 10 am
  • Faye Chen Barnouw of the Federal Trade Commission, will talk about protecting yourself from scams and reporting them to the FTC, Tuesday, March 8 at 10 am
  • Gayvial James of the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service & Wayne Chan of the IRS Criminal Investigation, will be talking about how to keep your information safe and how the IRS can help you with tax problems you can’t resolve, Wednesday, March 9 at 10 am
  • Giovanni Williams of the Department of Homeland Security/ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, will help us protect ourselves and businesses online, Thursday, March 10 at 10 am
  • Brian Shaunessy of the US Postal Inspection Service, will be talking about mail scams, Friday, March 11 at 10 am
