Posted on Oct 9, 2018 in Key Dockets

Hawaiian Electric Companies has selected seven solar-plus-storage projects on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. The seven projects will be spread out across the utility’s service territory, with three projects on Oahu, two on Maui and two on the Big Island. The projects are still subject to approval by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Under the state mandate, which requires the utility to achieve 100 percent renewable energy generation by 2045, Hawaii Electric is required to reach an RPS of 30 percent by 2020.
