State Launches New Online Service for Licensed Insurance Agents

Contractor and Pest Control Operator Licensees to Benefit from Faster Submission Process for their Insurance Information

HONOLULU — The state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA), Professional and Vocational License Division (PVL) launched a new online service to assist Hawaii’s licensed insurance agents.

The new online service is available at: pvl.ehawaii.gov/inikua.  This service allows insurance agents to submit general liability coverage and workers compensation coverage information for contractors and pest control operators.

PVL currently receives hundreds of insurance certificates weekly via fax and mail, which can take up to two to three weeks process. Insurance agents are encouraged to use this new online service to drastically reduce the processing time to three to five business days.  Certificates submitted online do not need to be faxed or mailed to PVL.

“The online submission is quick and easy,” said PVL Licensing Administrator Celia Suzuki. “We ask all contractors and pest control operators to help us to spread the word and ask their agents to take advantage of this new service to submit their information online.”

Insurance certificates issued through leasing companies and non-Hawaii licensed providers are currently not accepted through this system and must continue to be submitted via hard copy to PVL.  The division continues to work on expanding this service to accommodate all submittals.

The new online service was created through a partnership with PVL and the state’s internet portal manager, Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC.  The service is one of many online services for citizens and businesses offered through the state’s official website, eHawaii.gov (www.ehawaii.gov).
