Uniform Athlete Agents

Licensed athlete agents recruit, solicit, and enter into contracts with student-athletes and must be registered in the State.   Unlicensed individuals cannot initiate contact with a student-athlete without first becoming registered.

Signing or authenticating a contract may make a student-athlete ineligible to participate as a student-athlete.  Therefore, the law requires licensed athlete agents to provide certain disclosures to student-athletes.

Under the law, a student-athlete may cancel an agency contract by giving notice of the cancellation to the athlete agent in a record within fourteen days after the contract is signed.
