State to Suspend Business Action Center Kona Resource Days

HONOLULU — The state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ (DCCA) Business Registration Division (BREG) will be suspending its Business Action Center (BAC) Kona Resource Days at the end of the year.

BAC services include assistance with state business and employer registrations, state taxpayer IDs, and more.  BAC will continue to provide its in-person services on Oahu, Maui, and in Hilo.  A majority of BREG’s services are also accessible online at hbe.ehawaii.gov.

The resource days, held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the West Hawaii Civic Center, will be suspended at the end of the year, with the last BAC Kona Resource Day being held on December 12, 2019.

“Since October 2015, Director Diane Ley and her team have graciously hosted the Business Action Center Resource Days, bringing BAC services to West Hawaii,” said DCCA Director Catherine Awakuni Colón.  “We value our partnership with the Hawaii County Department of Research and Development and look forward to future opportunities to provide outreach on Hawaii island.”

“The Department of Research and Development appreciates the services that the BAC has provided in West Hawaii and values its continued partnership in East Hawaii. The BAC’s commitment to excellent customer service and support for the business community is to be lauded and recognized for providing the critical consultation that helps businesses survive and thrive. The goodwill established by this program is beyond measure,” said Department of Research and Development Director Diane Ley.
