HONOLULU – The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) announces a free Financial Literacy Fair on Friday, April 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Tamarind Park at Bishop Square in Downtown Honolulu.

As part of Financial Literacy Month in April, the DCCA Office of the Securities Commissioner is putting on the exhibitors fair to provide FREE information on financial investing, services and programs to the public. The event will feature various exhibitors who will provide materials on managing income, home ownership preparation, checking credit reports, retirement planning, investing in the market, paying taxes and avoiding being a victim of financial fraud.

“The exhibitors at this fair are trusted nonprofits and government agencies dedicated to help educate and protect Hawaii consumers,” Commissioner of Securities Tung Chan said. “This year, we’re excited to have a representative from the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the federal regulator of commodities and futures, to join us at the fair in our efforts to raise awareness of financial fraud in Hawaii.
