Aloha and Welcome to the website of the Office of Consumer Protection, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, State of Hawaii.

The Office of Consumer Protection is the primary contact agency for consumers with questions or complaints about general business transactions. The mission of our office is:

To foster a fair and safe marketplace for consumers and assure that businesses conduct themselves honestly, ethically, and responsibly under the consumer laws of the State of Hawaii.

This is a goal that we at the Office of Consumer Protection take to heart. We investigate complaints of unfair or deceptive acts or practices, enforce Hawaii’s consumer laws, work with other government agencies in protecting and promoting the interests of the consumer public and educate consumers and businesses on their respective rights and responsibilities.
