Instructions for 2010 CE Course Approval

A complete application for a Continuing Education course approval includes:

  1. Course Approval Application Form CE2A [Revised July 2013] (PDF)

    Submit one original and two duplicate copies of application and all additional documents.

  2. Applicable course fees.

    a. Issue one check for the Review/Issuance Fee ($30).

    b. Issue a second check for the Extension Fee ($40).

    c. Checks payable to: Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs

    Two separate checks are required to be submitted with the application.

    The review/issuance fee and extension fee are required at the time of course approval application submissions. The review/issuance fee is for the review of the course application and the extension fee allows the course to be offered from the effective date of course approval to the expiration date. If the course application is not approved, the extension fee payment will be returned.

  3. Submit the appropriate materials

    a. For classroom and/or seminar courses: Include a timed outline indicating for each section the time that will be spent with specific details of the content to be covered and a copy of the final examination and exam plan, if applicable.

    b. For self-study/internet courses: Enclose a copy of the self-study/internet course materials with a copy of the final examination and exam plan.

Once the application(s) are submitted with the appropriate materials and fees, the Continuing Education Advisory Committee will review it. The committee recommends approval or disapproval of the application to the Insurance Commissioner who makes the final decision.

If application(s) are incomplete or the appropriate materials and/or fees are not submitted, our procedures require returning all documents received. We appreciate your immediate compliance to complete all requirements and to file all documentation again in order to proceed with the processing of your application(s).
