Consumer Information
To help you understand your rights and options with regards to Lemon Law, please carefully review the steps below.
Complete and gather the following:

- Your Demand for Arbitration
- Your vehicle’s repair order(s)
- Your vehicle’s sales contract or lease agreement
- Your vehicle’s manufacturer’s warranty (often called a “New Vehicle Limited Warranty”)
- Your Letter to the Manufacturer and the green United States Postal Service DOMESTIC RETURN RECEIPT card showing the date the manufacturer received the letter
- Your signed Statement of Consumer’s Rights under Hawaii’s Lemon Law
- A $50.00 check made payable to “Director of Finance”
Make three (3) copies of each document (excluding the check) and collate them into three (3) identical packets. Please only make single-sided copies and do not staple documents together. Mail the above documents to:

- A Notice of Hearing will be mailed to you with the date, time and location of the hearing
- Complete and submit the following information:
- Election of Consumer
- Consumer Worksheet to Determine Award
- Timeline of Service to Vehicle Chart
- Additional information as requested by the SCAP Case Administrator
- Review the Manufacturer’s response to your claim
- Sample Lemon Law Hearing Video - to learn more about the arbitration hearing
- Gather all your documents and evidence and attend your hearing
- Watch the mail for a decision from the arbitrator
