The Business Registration Division (BREG) strives to make registering a business in Hawaii quick and efficient.  We have highlighted some of our services below.

If you need assistance starting a business, BREG’s Business Action Center (BAC) can help.

Hawaii Business Express (HBE) is BREG’s online portal.  Here, you can file business registration documents directly with the Business Registration Division.  You can also look up and view business information, purchase documents, manage your filings, and more.

Some features require you to log in with an ehawaii.gov account.  If you do not have an account, it is easy and free to create one.

Business Name Search allows you to find out information about a business and/or to purchase a Certificate of Good Standing or other available documents.

    • Enter business name in the Business Name field
    • Open your selected record
    • Go to the “Forms” tab for registration documents
    • Or “Buy Available Docs” tab to view documents available for purchase.
      • Select the documents you wish to purchase and where applicable, indicate whether you are requesting regular or expedited handling.  Expedited handling will incur an additional fee.  Click on “Add to Cart”.  If necessary, you can repeat this process for multiple businesses.  Just add the selected documents to your shopping cart, and checkout in a single transaction when you’re ready.

For new businesses, a guided process will take you through the steps to:

    • Register a business
    • Reserve a business name
    • Register a new trade name or trademark

For existing businesses, you can:

    • File your annual business report
    • Make changes to your business
    • Renew trade names or trademarks

My Dashboard” allows you to keep track of your business. Here, you can:

      • See what is due soon or overdue
      • View the status of your filing(s)
      • View approved documents
      • View documents that you have purchased
      • Manage notifications for reminders and/or subscriptions
